I've been using Chrome for a while now on Windows and Linux and I like it a lot. I only use another browser if I strike a site I want to see / use and Chrome - for whatever reason - can't do it.

I'd noticed my Chrome seemed to be gradually slowing down as time passed. Maybe it was just my expectations became jaded.....but eventually it became obvious things were slower.

I took a punt and wiped my browser cache. There were about 2,500 files in there totalling about 950MB. Almost a GB!!

With that monkey off Chrome's back, the browser leapt into action was as fast as ever.

So it wouldn't hurt to wipe the cache every now and again. This has nothing to do with cookies, so all your stored logins and other info aren't touched. Just the cache.

Just use ccleaner - Cleans up all sorts of junk on your PC - cache from various web browsers etc. Marvellous bit of freeware.

I absolutely love chrome. I gave my brother a PC that he can use now because he's had an old one in his room running xp pro 1ghz cpu, 356mb ram, and internet explorer was so slow it wasnt even worth using. Chrome just does it, no complaining. <3

Using Chrome as my day to day browser now also, generally performs a lot better than Firefox.

IE9 should be interesting, wasn't very impressed with IE8.

Don't use ccleaner, it's a scam, does more damage than it fixes.

Does more damage how?  The defaults are fairly safe only cleans out cache and temporary files iirc.

I mainly use Linux so I go into Chrome and Options and clear the cache there.

Isn't there some way of specifying a max cache size? Can't check, don't have Chrome/Spyware loaded right now ;)
