Maybe not entirely appropriate to this subforum, but since the fact that it is a computer is very relevant, I'll put it here...
My son is making a film in Colombia, and he's asked me to look into sending him his Imac. This is a 27", so is quite big, larger than the standard NZ Post package allowance. I've had a couple of quotes, which are both over a $1,000.
Does anyone have experience doing this? I'm looking for something affordable, as I'll be paying for it, but I need to know that it'll be a worthwhile investment -- that it'll get there in one piece, with minimum risk.
Any ideas appreciated.

I do not think $1000 is too bad a price, does that include insurance?

Who have you got quotes from?

Sorry for the delay getting back, I was waiting to talk to my son to let him know where things stand.
Colombia doesn't seem that far away with Skype...
Thanks for the link, we've yet to decide whether we'll go ahead, but at least I know that it should cost just under a grand.
