Just installed it, what a marked improvement over the old one. Seems to be stable, connects phone much better and is more responsive generally. They should of had it like this when they first released it.

Does it play nicer with Outlook calendars and contacts? That is always my biggest issues when using Kies.

Can't comment on that as I don't use Outlook

Great timing.
Spent a frustrating hour or so yesterday trying to find the magical combination of getting the sync to work reliably.  Will definitely look at this later to see if it's any better...

That would be a great big YES.  

Seems to just work which is always nice.  Clean sync both ways, no duplication of recurring events.

The only thing I don't like is the amount of time it takes for Kies to connect to my device - a Galaxy Tab running stock 2.2.  I think its got something to do with checking for and finding an available firmware update.

And no Kies connectivity via bluetooth is a bit of a drag, but not a deal breaker for me.
