Hi All,

Really need some guidance.

I just got my new PC delivered from MESH (Please don't ever order from them, terrible experience).

Anyway, they changed my monitor at the last minute and this one doesn't have a HDMI port.

The monitor they've given me is a Hanns G HL225 22 inch Widescreen LED Monitor it doesn't have a HDMI port.

Also,

However, my PC Tower does have a HDMI port.

I would like to know whether if there is any point purchasing a DVI to HDMI adapter, as the HDMI port is on the tower.

Will the picture quality be better?

Also what are the benefits of having a HDMI port in my monitor over a DVI?

Your assistance would be much appreciated.

HDMI is effectively DVI with space for audio traffic. The quality produced by both HDMI and DVI is equivalent as they are both digital.

If you are running a separate sound system then this will not affect you at all. If you are planning on using your monitor speakers then you will need to run an additional 3.5mm cable from your PC to your monitor.

Most graphics cards or motherboards have a DVI output so you may not even need an HDMI to DVI adapter and could just pick up a DVI cable.
