Are there any other service worth trying that backup/sync folders and show them in a photo gallery.

I've tried sugar sync and dropbox. Sugar sync is the better of the 2.

Just look at options before committing to anything.

Is there anything that can leverage amazon s3?

For photo storage I use www.smugmug.com there is 3 levels and with the Pro Service its unlimited photo storage.

More aimed at Photographers but an awesome service.

With a gallery I would read the fine print to make sure you retain copyright of your photos.

For distributing files and lately for storage, I use www.yousendit.com which is fast and easy to use. I mainly use it for distributing music recordings of our church band, which fits nicely in the 50GB per-file limit of the free account. It started off as a file sending service and the free account has files valid for 7 days, but recently they've added folders you can upload to. It is not really for automated backup (yet?), but works well for file storage and distribution. We also use it for distributing large CAD/CAM files to manufacturers.

I've had Drop Box, would not use it again.

EDIT: That is 50MB file limit, not 50GB file limit...

smugmug isn't what i'm after.

i'll check sugarsync's tos, i think amazon own your photos once you put them up.

Skydrive and Livemesh! 25GB free online storage with Skydrive and 5GB sync storage with Livemesh and with a very nice HTML5 based photo gallery viewer on the web.

Livemesh is prob what you are after here.

Do whatever you want to do man.
