Hello folks... I am thinking of swapping my 3.5" HDD on the desktop with my 2.5" Crucial SSD (sold my laptop and won't use it on the new one).

I am looking for an adapter - any ideas where I can find one in Wellington?

Is it not a Sata drive? Or does the motherboard support Sata? Just pull the adaptor already on there off, and plug sata power and data cables into both mobo and hdd.

Here we go, with some images:

The existing drive is screwed to the moving part in the picture. A 2.5 drive won't fit because it is smaller. I need a "bay" that will make it 3.5 so I can swap the drives. Connectors are just fine.

Better still... I need a bracket like this one (just the bracket as I already have the Crucial C300).

Does it have holes on top to fix it (not fixed by the sides)?

But yes, something like that.

It would be simple to drill some holes and counter sink them if necessary on that.

No, but thanks. That's to fix on the sides only.

Athlonite, I actually solved by using two of the screws on one side, then using velcro on the other... But thanks.

Zeon, as above... Thanks anyway.
