I am of late, experiencing issues with my computer ( which I built myself about 2-3 years ago)
The computer will for no reason whatsoever suddenly reboot itself. I have checked temps and CPU ranges from 30 to 37. System temp around 27. HDD around 19 and GPU at 46.

I have done registry cleans,  checked for malware/spyware which came back clean.  operating system is Vista Home Premium 32 bit with all updates applied. Planning on upgrading to 7, even though Windows 8 is in development.

The only warning I get when checking system log is  Detected unrecognized USB driver (\Driver\seehcri).

Could that be causing the reboot or if not, what other possibilities?

Unplug all your USB devices (except keyboard/mouse) and se eif the problem goes away. If it does, then its a dodgy USB item...

Will try that, I was leaning towards a USB problem.
I checked the Minidump folder for more info too, but nothing there to give me more clues

Have you checked your ram, or done a memory test?

Is it instantaneously rebooting (as if you'd powered it off and on) or going through the shutdown process?

Not yet, that was going to be my next test. I will see how the USB things go, just have mouse and keyboard plugged in now. If I still get reboots, ram will be checked

No Bluescreen?

Is it just like pushing the reset button on the case?
If so, I would be looking at power or heat issues.
It seems that you have checked heat, so I would be checking your power supply and/or the capacitors on the motherboard - have any of them changed shape/ballooned out or are they leaking fluid?

Instantaneously. I could be doing something and then it would be reboot right in the middle of it

No bluescreen. Checked all capacitors on the motherboard, all fine. Even reapplied thermal paste to the CPU/Heatsink.  Also blew dust out of Graphics card heatsink and CPU heatsink etc.
