I see you've mentioned a different Dell which does look better than the one I've mentioned.

Have you considered any of the above?

It seems the Samsung has the best response time and does well in other areas. I have been a fan of ViewSonic for quite some time, but might be time for a change.

I didnt really consider the Samsung. I looked at the price and was put off. I seriously considered the Dell U2711. Its price is roughly 1k so wasnt all that bad and it came with a lot of options in terms of ports.

But I settled for the U2713 since it has usb3 and LED which are pluses for me. The only advantage i saw with the U2711 is the better colour gamet. Honestly, I am an amatuer photographer so it wasnt too much of a big deal to me. I know professionals would not think that way so ya.

I considered the Asus as well since its 1k. But I think the Dell has better value.

The Samsung is currently only $1089, which seems pretty reasonable to me when compared against other monitors.

The Dell U2713HM is on specials right now from Dell for $736. I have already ordered one for me. At this price, I dont think you can get anything cheaper for this kind of monitor.

I brought the exact LG monitor you linked, last week.

Its quite nice, definitely nothing wrong with it.
Was also a bit worried about the dot pitch, being 1080p at 27" but it depends on your own eyes, and how far you sit from it.

Id probably purchase it again if the need arose. The pixels seem smaller than by old 22" 1680x1050 screen, but it might just be my imagination. At least it doesn't need as powerfull a GPU to push all the pixels at native res as a 1440p screen.
