Mirddes: usb3 drives are cheap and very fast.,a internal usb3 port would be great

But won't be reliable enough will it? They only have a limited number of write cycles. Also just because it is usb3 doesn't mean it will be fast. An proper SSD is a better solution, but obviously more expensive. But why not a normal harddrive, but smaller, as smaller ones should be a lot cheaper.

puppy runs from ram, writing to the disk is optional, insanely fast even from a random usb2 drive.

$55-77 for a magnetic drive

$4-14 for a usb stick, $22-33 for a fast one

55-77 MB ram on boot

has nice installer scripts, very flexible; minxi puppy

just bought a $99 monitor from elive for the prototype im building my mum.

perhaps a $555 pc for mass production is more realisitic.
