Question guys,

I came across this (http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=AMD+FX-8350+Eight-Core&id=1780) that suggested the AMD FX-8350 (4Ghz) is great value for money and would be faster than an i5.

What do you guys think? Is it worth considering?

Cheers

It has lower single core performance, that score will be with all 8 cores going. Single thread performance is still important for most applications. I'd go with the i5 personally.

Thanks everyone who contributed.

Ended up buying the i5 4690 and the Gigabyte z97m-d3h Mobo with 16GB of 1600Mhz DDR3.

Not regretting it as for photo editing it is night and day!
