Don't do it.. Playtech is the devil.

Talk to the Computer Lounge guys, they will almost certainly match or beat anything Playtech offer.

I've bought from Computer Lounge and Ascent and also PB Tech with no issues; this is my first attempt with Playtech. I'll be sure to let you all know if there're any problems. I'm expecting the PC to show up in the next couple days.

I'd like to know what problem you had with them?
Cheers.

I'd already bought it before the negative comments. Thought I'd update initial impressions. Playtech is a new company for me. I usually buy from Computer Lounge, occasionally from Ascent, Elive, and I bought hubby's last PC six years ago from PB Tech.

I like the PC so far. Looks like a Cylon. Black and red. The case has a window in the side. Lost on us since it's in a niche in the desk at knee level. :) The on/off button is very handy at the top front with the headphone jack and some usb slots. Came well packed, docs and discs well organised in one bag which I really appreciated. Detailed paper docket with the windows license code on it. Nice to have that recorded on the docket not just the disc cover and sticker. Ordered on Friday, arrived Wednesday. Good tracking. good emails. My favourite courier in short shorts, sockless, delivered it. He has good legs. Big warning sign on the PC to remove internal packing. Stickers with warrantee info in the case. Came with Batman Arkham game which I wasn't expecting. Cables are nice and tidy. I put in hubby's old HD and wireless card. We plugged in the old monitor, keyboard, mouse. Started it up. Typed in the wireless key. All good. Computer runs quieter than the old one.

I put some productivity and streaming software on it today, reinstalled Steam because it wasn't wanting to connect, made a Steam account (a first), installed Batman. Wow, Batman took a long while to install from 3 disks then took over 20 minutes to update. Checked to make sure it ran ok.

That's all I've had time for so far. Pretty happy with it. I hope to have a look at that Batman game at some point tomorrow and I've still got some software to put on but that can wait a few days.

Good to hear you are happy with your new PC [because of, regardless of] the Geekzone:)

Now, my main reason for posting... what breed of dog is that in your icon?

It looks like a German Shepherd. But, it is very stripey:)

We've had three shepherds over the years, our current one is a male, you can see him with my icon dog up thread in the Off Topic section of Geekzone in the Opotiki SPCA thread.

I believe Nick (aka Picnic) is a part shepherd. The front stripe V and black head and back is not atypical, all our shepherd pups had it. As she has aged a good deal of the black has turned to tan. We got her from the Opo SPCA. I think the other part is the popular 'Opo Pitti' dog much favoured here. You can see it in the short muzzle and shape of her head when her ears are down and her upright feet, light tan colour and short hair. She is the size of a female shepherd and has quite a curly tail. Now that she has grown up her ears look more proportional to her head but she is incredibly expressive with them and can bend them to various degrees, swivel and lay them back independent of each other! None of our shepherds ever did that.

She is the absolute best dog I have ever had. :)
