Ragnor:Maybe give Playtech an ring and ask them if they can get a Ducky Zero with blue switches in, they seem to have stock of the other switches... it's probably that blue is not popular with gamers so they actively don't stock it.

Can't hurt asking them.

Yesterday I discovered that the Gamdias Hermes keyboard video I watched was for the Ultimate version, whereas the cheaper one is the Essential version... The difference? The Element dampers on the keys. Bonus, so If I get the Essential version, it will be full noise.

So I wrote an email to Mighty Ape yesterday to clarify whether the ones they stock indeed have the Cherry MX Blue switches... but still waiting for a response.

Meanwhile I discovered Das is bringing out a 4C model, tenkeyless... brilliant! Oh hold on... they've gone away from using cherry switches :(

So I think, if Mighty Ape confirms the Gamdias Hermes Essential ($129) units they have a Cherry MX Blue, I'll get that otherwise I might buy a Das 4 Professional ($229). It would seem they are never on special (?) so might as well just buy it and not hold out for discount.

Mine was discounted at Christmas from 130 odd dollars to 70. Wait till Easter. If no go, then just buy it.

Yeah I don't know why so many people enjoy blue switches... they seem too loud and clacky for my liking. I guess if you don't use your keyboard for primarily gaming then I could understand the use for a non black/red switch. I've had my 6gv2 with black switches for 3-4 years now, got custom keycaps and has been wonderful since.

I do quite a bit of coding\typing, hence wanted to give the blue switches a go, and I like loud and clacky, lol. Yeah, the one it's replaced is black switches. Love that KB too, especially for gaming, I certainly won't be getting rid of it (I tried the red switches but preferred the stiffer black switches) - typing on blues is bliss though.

I guess I'm not a connoisseur of fine switches, but I got to spend 5 minutes in PB tech yesterday and they had a 6 switch tester there. While I intricately know all the differences, to me as a button masher, Blue and Green only differed in sound (Green was louder/better), and all the others (Red, Black, Clear (?), and something else) felt more or less the same. I guess the true test would be actually typing on a board watching it come up on the screen, rather than a single key.

I guess once I resolve the keyboard issues in the other thread, to which I think will only be resolved by buying another computer I suspect, I will get a black/red as well as blue to test them out in practice.

I've been using Dell SK-8115 and SK-8135 keyboards for years so I guess I'll probably enjoy a black/red one as well.
