I'm still thinking GPU driver with Windows 10.

Not really realated, but I'd like to have a dollar for every time Chris Cox [1] tells people that they need to update their video driver to stop Photoshop misbehaving.

[1] Senior Adobe Computer Scientist on the Photoshop Development team. How's that for a grand job title?

timmmay: If it works perfectly under load when the graphics card isn't in use but then is unstable when it's in use that's a clue.

You could try installing windows onto a different disk, see if it's the OS playing up.

Yeah, I feel like given everything I've tried so far I'm stretching a bit to say it's not the graphics card at fault. I just really want it not to be the graphics card, see the first card I bought was an EVGA GTX 660 Ti and it failed (I went EVGA for international warranty). This time I went Asus because it looked a bit nicer and was in stock, but no international warranty. I thought I had my one graphics card failure for my lifetime already.

I emailed Asus yesterday for their opinion.
I emailed Corsair the day before and they told me to try test the PSU or GPU elsewhere since the voltage was fine but they were happy to replace it for me if I wanted anyway.

I doubt it's the OS since the fresh install of 8 which had no programs installed still crashed with Furmark.
I don't think I can really attribute crashing to a solid colour to anything but the GPU given it happened on two seperate OSs/Drivers.

Back to laptop gaming I guess

That was one of my initial thoughts but the new Windows 8 install crashed too. Plus the driver was last updated on 3rd Jan on my 10 install but until a few days ago it was stable on that same driver version. I have a Windows 7 Acronis TrueImage backup somewhere I could image to be super safe it's not a driver issue (if I can find the TrueImage disk that it is).
