I think that same monitor has been on some pretty good sales - like well under $500 or possibly even less, I can't quite recall. But yeah, still a fair bit and I haven't personally seen it in action.

that's the first link I saw. I actually got mine at Noel Leeming for $560. I don't think it would have sold lower than that, but I could be wrong.

I've got a 22" Samsung LCD which I'm looking to offload cheap if you're interested.

I'm in Lower Hutt and can put up the model number later if you are interested.

Too large a screen or sub-optimal viewing distance and angles will make you move your head up and down all the time and increase the likelihood of neck and posture problems.

If you don't need a large rectangular screen to display everything at the same time (e.g. high definition gaming) then two smaller monitors/TVs could be better because it is easier to see the entire vertical dimension when monitors are side by side without having to lift or drop your head. Even more so if you use a few applications at the same time then you can arrange them logically on the different screens.
