While ejecting the cd tray out of the drive also makes an excellent cup holder..

The reflect light well, so you an use them to signal an aircraft in a search and rescue situation.

I tried to offload a bunch of pristine unused DVD's at the Wellington council recycling shop last weekend. They said nah.

My F1 Library consists of over 200 DVDs

I still have 100+ VHS tapes to convert

Put them in a vault. They will be worth a lot of money one day.

I regularly burn CD's for my CDJ's (DJ purposes)

Can play from USB as well but I don't like scrolling through hundreds of titles, CD's work well

Why not put less on the USBs then? or use SD cards if you want something smaller but still swappable?

Swapping CD's is easier than swapping USB sticks (especially in night club environments). And USB sticks are more costly (even though the cost has decreased dramatically)

Also the feel is just better with physical media (I started with vinyl but that has become highly impractical) :)

handy for live disk booting if you don't want a huge bunch of USB sticks around also for backing up customers personal files ie: pics docs music it also gives them a semi permanent copy for themselves
