unless of course I scoop the $30 million in Lotto this weekend. This would mean buying a ticket I guess.

Buying ticket only improves your chances by 1/38,000,000 per line.

Our customers have experienced greater than 100% failure rates. Some devices have failed multiple times. Most customers have actually dropped their Surfaces and moved to other products.

I would have to say I have only heard of one Surface Book being faulty.

I upgraded from a pro 2 to a pro 3 to a pro 4 hoping they had figured out all of the bugs.. they haven't

Such a shame they're so buggy, they'd be an amazing product if they just worked out of the box.

on my 3rd RMA'd docking station as well..

I'm in the boat of dropping the product all together as well.. Almost went with a Surface Book but... decided against it in the end and and went with a Gigabyte laptop and couldn't be happier with it :)

This new product does look awesome though :)

When I saw it I just thought of a NUC with a touch screen monitor attached. Cant see how they justify the price of nz$6k - I would price it at 50-60% lower.

I think not only does it look stunning, but the features and specs hit a sweet spot for me. I have an over 5 year old PC (which is still PLENTY fast enough for RAW photo developing, some intense modelling and gopro editing) and the new CPUs etc weren't presenting me with a compelling upgrade proposition.

Turns out I want a beautiful computer instead. This is seriously close to going on my must-have list.

Cheers - N.

ps. I have a SP3 and it's been flawless... I accept others have had issues.

Although I won't be getting one the ad created a dream where I bought one.

When Apple bottomed out (nearly permanently) a couple of decades ago, Microsoft had to commit to Apple to prop them up as a viable competitor. At the time, I doubt that anyone seriously predicted that Apple would be the hardware darling or that Microsoft would take on Apple in hardware.

If they could make it run OSX it would be a fabulous machine.

Might get it anyway, even though I do not really enjoy using Windows at all.

I would like to see them release the screen as a separate unit that could be powered by a Surface Pro or Book.

Take a look at the HP X2 1012, they have been much MUCH more reliable. Also the keyboards don't suck.

So far - and I realise writing this will immediately invoke the wrath of the IT God  who will promptly cast a spell called Mantar's Screen Of Blue Death - my SP 4 has behaved entirely as expected and any issues have been cases of Layer 8/9 error.
