I think it is fantastic that we can have this conversation again AMD vs Intel but like others said this is a new chip brand new architecture so optimizations are still in coming however I could not recommend the 7700k anymore unless you want very high refresh rate 1080p gaming.

 

Putting it simply the Ryzen is much better at everything else than the 7700k is better than the Ryzen at gaming.

 

Also worth noting that gaming performance is improving

Even with this 1700 chip you can still get considerable frame rates. 

 

I mean go buy a Ryzen 7 1700 and a GTX1070 and tell me its bad for games. Thats complete utter nonsense. 

 

The Intel i7 7700K is a better chip for gaming. But the difference of roughly up to 10-15 fps @1080p and an even smaller difference @ 1440 or 4K you can barely justify it.

Its also still a huge upgrade from a lot of old chips and no one is going around saying I7's from a few generations back are no good for gaming. Its been a massive improvement over my old 3770 and that had no problems with modern games.
