Thanks all for the feedback. Pulled machine apart today, dusty as expected. Fan was still spinning freely on GPU, however have removed it and have now reconnected screens to HDMI and DVI on motherboard. Will run like this for a week or so and see how it goes. Failing that will shell out some coin on a replacement GPU!

If that mobo has on board video, looks like VGA. Try a screen on that when it goes funny. If that is fine its likely the graphics card.

Pretty sure it will run fine without dedicated graphics. GPU failure due to overheating caused by blocked cooling system is not something rare. Those particular AMD video cards are prone to failure. It worked for quite a while for you anyway. Definitely worked out it's cost :).
