If you aren't sure about putting it together, i can guarentee a computerlounge prebuilt will be a good bet. They have awesome service and do good quality builds (eg good cable management etc). Shipping is free also, as is the credit card fee.
If you've never built a computer before, well theres a first for everything, but prebuilt is an option.

and it uses almost the exact parts you've chosen at a pretty good price of $1,667.25 (theres a 5% discount for buying online off that marked price). If you want the 4870 instead, hit configure and swap it out, as with any other part.

Hey there's nothing wrong with Dell. You just bought the wrong system for your needs.

Best value though will be a prebuilt from a local supplier. And there's heaps of choice. You won't go wrong dealing with PB Technology - they do a number of "off the shelf" systems at pretty good prices. Or if you want to customise what you buy, try Computer Lounge as in the previous post. C1 Shppingmall also allow you to customise and have really good prices.

You shouldn't need to spend a lot of money to get what you want. $1000 should get you a decent Core Duo box.
