Eva888: There was also a YouTube video that showed the same optical window in the side of a Brother toner cartridge where it was taped over.

We've also had a bad run of toners and now always but the original one.
The one we got off Trademe did not register, I had to pry the identification chip off the original one and stuff into the after market one.
Furthermore, it didn't last long at all. It only lasted about 20% or less than the original one.
You get what you paid for I guess.

Eva888: Tried to buy from Doolz which keeps telling me my address is not valid in Address line 1, no matter which way I type it. So frustrating.
Try Google Maps to see what it thinks your address is...

My first ever AM radio network connection was with a 1MHz AM crystal(OA91) radio receiver.

I've also seen bad things happen using 3rd party toners (cartridge world etc) including destroying the drum and rollers etc. I would go original.

My Drum got wrecked by using third party toners in a Brother colour laser printer (Drum error or something displayed). Gave up on it instead of buying a new Drum.
I would maybe get a cheap B&W laser again but rarely print so will use my Brother inkjet. Third party inks for that have found very simple and reliable.
Since owning our Brother MFC9340CDW colour laser printer we have been buying our replacement cartridges online from https://techwarehouse.co.nz/ All genuine products.
Your TN2445 Brother High Yield BlackToner is $119.54
The postal cost for our four cartridges = $9.99 Nth Island plus 1.5% CC fee.
Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.
"a TN2445 Toner Cartridge. They cost up to $155"
For a Brother Mono laser cart , you are being reamed at that price. Honestly , bend over when paying for it , as thats whats happening. :)
Who cares if you only get 75% of the page count, look at the price difference.
Buy from a seller who offers a 100% guarantee , including any supposed issues caused by toner refills
So much BS and nonsense re re-manufactured toner carts .
Black Brother toner carts are the simplest to refill (or were) . The would not cost anywhere near that to manufacture.
Properly re-maned toner carts with the correct toner will NOT destroy your drum . Drum units wear out regardless , all so easy to blame a refill.
I was in that industry a while back (2 different companies), I used to sell & refill carts & do printer repairs
We used to import inkjet carts for as low as 25c and they would retail for $30 . The markup on consumables is huuuge .
Yes , some refills arnt as reliable on average, but look at the price difference.
not all refills fail or leak .
Issues can arise if its been refilled too many times (seal issues) , or if its just a sloppy job (eg re-sealed with duct tape)
Some of the weird brands (and colour laser) I woulnt allways recommend a refill , but Brother BLACK refills shouldnt be an issue

as little as $27.
Thats just to give some idea of the real costs . All the rest is profit.
For my Brother HL-2270DW mono laser I get "compatible" toners from Computer Food. I pay $32, with free shipping, and the shipping is very fast. Never had a problem with the compatible toners, and I see that Computer Food also sell the real thing for $115. They also offer a guarantee to fix or replace any damage caused to a printer (with a few conditions attached).
I'm about to buy four cartridges for the Brother MFP M281fdw in our office. We've had it three years so it's likely at the end of it's warranty so I'd love to save some money.
At Warehouse Stationery the four original 202x cartridges come to $873.00, at Computer Food four compatible 202x cartridges are $275.76.
Saving $600 is a risk I'm prepared to take from here on in.
