I tried a cleaning disc with brushes on it to clean the DVD drive's lens, but no luck. Also this time I found, the DVD drive managed to read a single layer DVD burnt by itself, but not another dual layer DVD burnt by itself. I bought some acetone online, but still waiting for delivery.

Id say now is the time to look at an external drive...rather than throwing good money after bad.
