Ragnor: I'm sticking with a "get an intel when the price comes down or wait for the fixed generic's" approach.
That's cool, but I see benefit in an SSD for those reasons we've both mentioned: size, heat and noise/moving parts. I guess the thing is, do you come out and say "don't get them because they don't out-perform regular hard drives and they're expensive" or do you say "here are the problems and benefits for either argument" and let someone choose their own path. For me those three factors alone are enough to sell me on it. performance isn't an issue for me really, because I'm not going to be doing a lot of stuff that requires speedy disc access. So the premium I pay for the device is offset by those benefits I'll enjoy.
That's not to say the same benefits are important to Adamal of course, but at least a fair assessment can be made now
