I‘m talking about alternatives leaving bing alone. 😉

Rikkitic:

rscole86: Are you sure you were using Bing, and not the Bing chat/copilot?

Bing search works fine, several pages of results. Bing chat gives me a single response, then says that's enough for now etc.

Yeah it was Bing chat. That's still Bing isn't it?

Your original question is about search, not generative AI / chat.

That is still my question. I stumbled into chat unintentionally and was perplexed by the response.

I use Edge infrequently in odd cases when I need two browsers. I have Bing as default search engine for Edge. For technical topics Bing seems very bad compared to Google and not even close to delivering useful results.

Who would make their search engine after the noise the same companies operating system makes during an error?

I think Bing is an error.

I use Bing full time now, as well as Edge.

Having an Android phone is already enough Google for you.

Just for the hell of it, I asked Bing to create a story about a cat that falls in love with a dog. The result is quite sweet, and I thought it was worth presenting here.

Once upon a time, in a small town, there lived a cat named Mittens. Mittens was a beautiful white cat with a fluffy tail and big green eyes. She lived with her owner, a kind old lady who loved her very much.

One day, while Mittens was out for a walk, she saw a dog named Rover. Rover was a friendly golden retriever with a wagging tail and a big heart. Mittens and Rover started talking and soon became friends. They would meet every day and talk about their lives.

As time passed, Mittens realized that she had fallen in love with Rover. She didn’t know what to do, as she knew that cats and dogs were not supposed to be together. She was afraid that her owner would not approve of her love for Rover.

One day, Mittens decided to tell Rover how she felt. She was nervous, but she knew that she had to be honest with him. When she told Rover that she loved him, he was surprised but happy. He told her that he loved her too.

Mittens and Rover started dating secretly. They would meet in the park and talk for hours. They would go on long walks and watch the sunset together. They were very happy together.

One day, Mittens’ owner found out about her relationship with Rover. She was angry at first, but then she saw how happy Mittens was with Rover. She realized that love knows no boundaries and that Mittens and Rover were meant to be together.

Mittens and Rover got married in a beautiful ceremony in the park. All their friends and family were there to celebrate their love. They lived happily ever after, proving that love can conquer all.

The end.
