Years ago, everyone was hating on Internet Explorer.

So, why is everyone using the Internet Explorer of today?

I can’t stand Chrome or Chromium based browsers. Firefox all the way.

Vivaldi is my preference for random browsing. Started out with mobile ad locking and went from there. But I still use Chrome for Google account services and Edge for Microsoft ones. I figure if I'm signed in anyway, may as well use the "optimised" platform.

I periodically go back to Firefox but just find it a bit niggly and erratic at times, just enough that I notice it.

Vivaldi also got me to switch to Qwant search. Not Google but I've been quietly impressed.

I like how all those users have ad blocking as their main feature. Meanwhile, last month was the lowest revenue month in years for us.

I switched to Firefox 2 years ago.

Best feature is the container tabs, vs using profiles in Chrome. E.g. work website always opens in a separate container tab. Or always open Facebook in a container tab to isolate cookies embedded on other sites.

Profiles is still available in Firefox but not as easy to open as Chrome.

This, this is the best Firefox feature.

I ended up giving Edge (with multiple profiles) a go for most day-to-day stuff. I do also use Firefox for some stuff, but mainly the stuff that is straightforward for container use and I'd already setup before I decided on Edge. Edge/Chrome profiles are superior for other stuff for me, mainly where some sites overlap between two uses.

Edge having native vertical tabs is the big win for me, Firefox's Tree Style Tabs extension is great, but I've found it to be less stable these days than it used to be when I was primarily using Firefox 16 years ago.

Biggest issue I had with Edge is the amount of setting hunting to tell it to get lost with all the Microsoft Rewards/Bing/etc stuff, but thankfully it is possible.

I'm a Safari advocate, but when that fails me albeit rarely I switch to Firefox.

Firefox as my daily driver on PC and moblie, having ublock Origin on both making surfing easy.

I cant believe how many ads i see when chrome opens on mobile.

Edge for cashback etc.

Buckchoi:

Add the following commands to your Chrome shortcut to keep using uBlock Origin: --allow-legacy-mv2-extensions --disable-features=ExtensionManifestV2Unsupported,ExtensionManifestV2Disabled

This will stop working eventually too.

This is one of the reasons I use Firefox. Diversity is good.

Other reasons are that I find it faster and more stable than Chrome.

The scary part is Google provide major funding to Mozilla. Who knows what would happen if that went away.

Vivaldi for me. I used to use Opera back in the day because it was so customisable, but then they switched from using their own browser engine to Chromium and took away the ability to customise things. Then a Chinese company bought Opera. I understand that the original Opera management started Vivaldi with the idea of recreating a highly customiseable browser. I do have Firefox on my PC but it's rarely used, I just find it clunky.

Firefox, as mentioned above containers are a godsend for managing work, family and personal accounts.

Been using Firefox today and notice that watching Youtube the video start/stop stutters. No such issue with chrome.
