Although for gaming wise I'd rather choose the machine with the 9800gt over the 9500gt, especially if your kids want to play their games on higher graphics settings coupled with higher resolutions.
Thank you for all your help, and in reponse to Overclocker as a group we decided on going with a Playtech build, very similar to the specs you outlined for me so cheers for that.
Regarding WoW it actually sounds fun to play and wouldn't mind giving it a go myself!!

Its hardly a big drama running Vista for 5 months, I would say that they got a free upgrade voucher for windows 7 and it is rumored to be shipping later this year
Listy: My kids have just handed me a couple of pieces of paper with some computers on and think one of them should be able to handle what they plan to use it for, world of warcraft, music and other stuff. I'm not computer savvy in the least and need some help, are either of these any good

Any info would be fantastic because they are nagging the heck out me, and i haven't the foggiest what most this stuff means. Also if you have any reccomendations please say, my eldest said he posted in the gaming section in greater detail, barely got through the door and they are at me like a couple of piranhas who smell blood

Those PC specs are way more than enough to play World of Warcraft, hell im playing WoW on a 4 yr old PC with all detail on high and it runs perfectly WoW is an old game and hasn't changed much in detail. - My Main PC is slightly lower specs than the one's you mention yet is good enough for todays games.
Best way to test a new gaming pc is get the tech at the shop to install the pc game 'Crysis' demo and turn all detail up to its max in the game, then see how the PC runs the game if PC can run the game smoothly without any lagging slowdowns etc., then the pc's good enough. If they only want the PC for WoW and music etc., then the above pc's are perfect. I would go for the second one although any of the two would be fine.
