Would running the one card I have in crossfire with the on board card increase performance just as a temp thing until I get another card and motherboard?

I am having the same issues with the same motherboard, running Win7 x64 and using a HD 4350 PCI-e graphics card.

I found this article: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?p=4473984

Which discribes the situation well. It would appear that Crossfire with this MB is quite dependant on the discrete card chipset (i.e. works with some, not with others). Hopefully a bios update in the future will fix all thi

hi again, if you dont want to spend a lot of money i think the board i pointed out before would be a good option (as it can run crossfire at 8x 8x bandwidth)

If you want to spend more money, then the 890FX chipset is the way to go. It will let you run crossfire with both cards at full 16x bandwidth.
The most reasonbly priced 890FX board i believe is the M4A89TD PRO/USB3 which retails for around $320.
The GA-890FXA-UD5 would also be a good option at about $330 ish.

EDIT: oh i forgot, i helped my friend build his amd X6 based system last weekend using the
M4A89TD PRO/USB3. So far so good - running at 3.9ghz at the moment and he has no idea what hes doing as far as overclocking.

I think so to.
Makes you more future proof as you know you can upgrade to any card in the future and wont bottle neck it.

Yep, direct swap - assuming you currently have DDR3 RAM.

890GX boards wont run crossfire at 16x 16x bandwidth.

You need 890FX (or the older 790FX) board to do it properly.

If your going to spend that much $ get a board with the 890FX chipset. The ones i mentioned above are well priced 890FX boards

the $200 board i also spoke about above will run crossfire just as well as the GIGABYTE 890GPA-UD3H AM3 (both will run 8x 8x bandwidth)
