hey, yeah I actually did get the Seagate drive that does 5900RPM... I have to say, its a pretty decent drive.
So far the speeds are going at around 120MB/s write speeds which is actually with decent I thought.
Read speeds I havent really gauged just yet.
But so far, for the price I got the drive at, theres no way I am going to complain.
I have a couple of 7200RPM drives that are about the same speed as the 5900RPM drive - the only notable differences between hardware really is the spinning speed and the hard drive cache (16MB vs 64MB on the new drive)
I've got the 2TB green Seagate in my WHS 2011 box. It has all my media on it plus MediaPortal TVServer records everything to it. It handles it all fine, can even be recording two channels while watching a movie without an issue.

Thanks, that's great info, I'm looking at getting a bang for buck drive like the seagate or WD, I'm veering towards the Seagate now. Where did you get from if you don't mind me asking?
I got mine from PlayTech. They've actually just lowered the price for the third time in the last couple of weeks; it now sits at $109.99 for the Seagate 2TB drive. Pretty good if you ask me. I was considering snapping up another one, but I have no use for one at the moment :P
