You may want to buy a larger SSD anyway. I don't know how common SSD failures are compared to spinning drives.

Yea i was thinking that... nervous opening it up though... is it fairly straight fwd to swap?

 

I assume i put windows on a USB stick and it can boot from that with new drive? ive done that before many many years ago sp im fine with that part, it's more the taking out and putting in the new drive.

 

Also, how does the license for windows work?? if i install from a usb drive, wont it ask me for license number?

It is usually fairly easy to swap. If unsure though you could ask a mate with a bit of PC nous to assist. 

 

 

 

Don't be nervous, once you've done it once you'll think "that was easy" and before you know it you're tinkering every weekend!
