I too would vouch for Computer Lounge> They even went so far as to chat to me via Facebook Messenger when I was having a problem with a graphics card I had bought from them just over 3 years ago. Never had any bad service from them. In saying that, haven't had any issues with PB Tech for the things I've got through them.
Ordered some new speakers from these guys at about 8pm on Sunday Night, arrived this morning at about 9am. Great service once again from the folks over at PB Tech.

Don't forget that nobody remembers the service they are entitled to, only ever bad or exceptional service; When you go in there and get what you paid for, nobody makes a social media announcement that things are good.

I remember all the times Computer Lounge have given me great service and when things went wrong how they went out of their way to make things right, which is why I keep going back.
+1 for Playtech. 9 times out of 10 they are the cheapest and even though I live in Dunedin and always pick the free two day delivery option I always get my order the next working day.
I may be in the minority here - I'm mostly positive about the experience I had of Quay computers. Five boxes from them over the years, starting with a venerable 386DX40 (that dates me!).
One machine had serious issues (actually it was the 386), but they were pretty good about fixing it and giving me a loaner until it was ready. I have a machine of theirs here that's 7+ years old, runs most days, and hasn't yet missed a beat. On the other hand, I have no end of issues with business grade Dells, I think I had three laptops (which were all very carefully maintained and looked after) fail in under two years. I suspect there's a bit of the luck of the draw in whatever you buy.
I am also thinking of a new machine, and was going to get it custom made by PB in a couple of months, assuming the new version of Windows is released and actually fixes all the issues with the truly awful Windows 8 interface - otherwise I will give up on PCs and move to a Mac instead. I was going to go with them because the pricing seemed OK, and they were physically close to me for pick ups, and going to see if there were any issues. Plus,build to order was nice as I have some niche preferences around what I want if possible.
However, the comments about PB here have given me pause for thought, and I may now look for an alternative vendor. Or just hoist the surrender flag on Windows/PCs and go Mac......
Another vote for PB Tech - awesome service, especially after a shocking experience with Expert Infotech: never going there ever again. PB Tech on the other hand are great. Spent lots at the Glenfield shop.
PB have signifigantly different prices on some items if they are sold on a business account. If you log in as the business account on your phone you can get it for that as a cash sale without problem if you see a sales person. The people at the counter can not do any discounting at all, they just are there to check stock off, enter serial numbers and process the eftpos.
They have almost always come close to the cheapest on pricespy and actually had stock so I could take things that day.
