I have a 2013 MSDN license and currently use Office 2010 with Office 365 (the hosted exchange one, not the other "Office 365"), and it works pretty well.

Might install Office 2013 one day if I have to reinstall Windows 7 on my laptop. Seriously, Windows 7 is so solid, I don't even worry about having to do those "fresh installs" we use to.

Now that I said that it might fail later today...

Can Word and Excel from Office 365 be run without needing an intenet connection?

I'm often working in places where there is no intenet or even cellphone reception...

I just have a question about the Office 365 University version. I have about 6 months to go in my masters degree and I am looking to take at advantage of student pricing before I leave. Will the four year license of Office 365 University work after I stop studying? Will Microsoft check that I am still a student?

Yes it will work, it doesn't require that you're always a student, just that you are when you purchase. Same as if you buy something with a student discount elsewhere.
