Rosetta is a memory hog alright, first day i started i was sitting at 90% usage on a 16gb machine, and 28gb of committed space. tweeked a few settings and its been a bit better behaved.

Folding is hit an miss for work units, had 2 the other night, and the had one finish and go into a long loop trying to send it back, the thing is you loose points for taking longer to send it back. it was stuck trying to contact an offline server. nothing was changing that. just let me queue a days worth of units (6-8) and it will be fine

how do you get more than one task at a time? im only running GPU work so its only running through one at a time but every time it finishes it takes 2+ hours to get a replacement. having a couple there at a time at least provides a small buffer

You dont want one gpu working on 2 workunits at the same time. One will run it at %99 if set on the FULL slider.

The light setting will use CPU work units only.

The default is Medium which runs CPU and GPU units at HALF speed.

The Full setting runs CPU + GPU projects at MAX performance.

Here is another setting I saw, apparently as soon as it hits %100 it will download a new unit,

i said get, not work on :)

i would like to have some work in the queue so when one finishes there is another to start working on straight away in case there is an issue uploading them

thanks for those images, have set it to 95 which will give it 20 odd minutes to get a new one before the previous one finishes

Have added an old Mac Mini to the Rosetta Geekzone team. Great work you guys are doing!

Wish I had the hardware to do some more heavy crunching.

LTT has put their WU server online. Which should help those waiting for workunits.

I wasn't getting many points until i read that you get more points once you register for passkey.

Just did that few hours ago, I had already done a total 30 WU

I've switched off the Surface Pro, as it was running extremely hot just running BOINC. Just have BOINC on the old Mac for now.

I had to tone down the VM running Boinc on the Geekzone server - so it went from 16 cores down to 8 cores. It's impacting some operations on other VM every few seconds.

I was thinking I might have to give mine a couple more - I see @andkiw and @Jase coming up fast...

I note that my client (boinc) seems do download several "Rosetta Mini 3.78" work units each day, which then fail due to computation errors. The main Rosetta 4.08 units work fine.

Has anyone else noticed this?

ive had a few on my slowest client. not sure why but it seems to be fine now, maybe a bad batch of units.

i put rosetta on a couple of laptops to see how it would go. also curious to see where my desktop sits once it reaches it max average work. its also doing folding on its GPU.

would love to tun up a few more old pieces of PC hardware i have here but i dont have PSU's for them.
