@Geektastic:

I registered on the Rosetta site but I cannot for the life of me work out how to put their software on my computer.

You use BOINC to run the work units. Download BOINC for Windows and install it. Then you select the projects you want to joining - look in the Biology and Medicine section for Rosetta@home and enter your R@H credentials.

Ah, but I want to run it on a Mac...

I am pretty sure you will find the Mac download there.

Looks like Rosetta is running out of units. I used to have at least 16 stacked up, now I've only got 5 active ones and lots of screen real-estate.

that usually have maintenance on a Monday/Tuesday (US time) where they stop sending units. this normally happens for 4-8 hours. as you an imagine there is a lot of catching up to do, especially when so many more people have joined recently. The computer im on ran out for about 6 hours then managed to get enough to keep going.

Ive changed my cache settings to store work for 1 day and additional work for 2 days on all my machines. should hopefully tide me through any down time.

Ge0rge: I see the Rosetta application has gone from version 4.08 to 4.12. The newer version work units seems to take a little less time to process, at least for me. I haven't updated the Boinc client at all - mines running in a container - and I've got both versions processing together at once.

It would appear that I was wrong about this. I've gone from averaging around 8 hours per WU to around 21 hours. My average credit has moved very little, and I haven't changed the settings for the container at all - it looks like I'm still doing the same amount of work as the 4.08 version, but the 4.12 units are bigger perhaps?

Anyone else seen a change in processing time?

For some reason I keep getting "Computation error" on all tasks. Have tried to reset the project but that didn't help.
