Ive got a Surface RT and I mainly use it as a music player at work, plex device in bed and an ebook reader for everywhere else. Now while its does brilliantly in those departments I am wondering if anyone who has one or a similar RT device has any suggestions for Apps/uses/games etc

I quite like stratedy type games and would kill to have FTL on my RT, and I was looking around at games you can play in your browser and what not...

So if you have any suggestions let me know

You could try supporting a few locally based kiwi game studios.  Games were making up near 25% of our software exports in 2012 - be interesting to see how that's going now.

Some of these cost a few measly $, some are free.

Into the Dead (zombie shooter) by PikPok: http://aka.ms/ITTD
Bee Leader (bee arcade) by Flightlesshttp://aka.ms/Bee
Major Mayhem (commando shooter) by RocketJump http://aka.ms/MajorMayhem
Wheel of Fortune (game show) by Marker Metro for Sony Pictures Television: http://apps.microsoft.com/webpdp/app/0bd1e98c-a458-434d-ba26-7fba945cb0f6
Jelly Car 3 (driving arcade) by Marker Metro for Disney: http://apps.microsoft.com/windows/en-us/app/jellycar-3/e3aaaa50-398e-4956-b287-926aaad50587

Few board games worth looking at are:
Alphajax (scrabb1e type game originally by Marker Metro on windows phone): http://apps.microsoft.com/windows/en-us/app/e27ac155-20f1-4b3e-9293-26e58da970ad
Wordament http://apps.microsoft.com/windows/en-us/app/9c10bc10-75bf-41e3-a26a-01aba908af85
Snap Attack http://apps.microsoft.com/windows/en-us/app/4c3853b1-3d7f-43d2-b70b-b53560820e99
