Hello all, first time so go easy...

I have a I-mate jasjam and am wanting to use some .jar files on it. They are a converted powerpoint with sound. There are no issues with the files, as they open up on a desktop PC. Alas, I am having no luck executing them. The jasjam comes installed with MIDlet manager, but apparently this can only be used with .jad??

I found a jad generator, but this still doesnt seem to work.

The .jar that I have are not accessible from the web, they will be put onto my memory card.

Any suggestions of any third party software available to assist in my quandry?

I bought an HTC originated device the other day - not a jasjam, but similar. It came with Java loaded. It sounds like your device doesn't have java loaded.

Jar files should be associated with a Java Runtime Environment. To get this for the PC you go to www.java.com, although for PPC I'm not sure where you pick it up. You should be able to find one at http://java.sun.com

Not sure what a Jad file is. There is a utility called jad which decompiles jar files into the original source javas.

You should look for Java Runtime for Pocket PC. I think the MIDLet Manager is J2ME only.

There are a few around - one from IBM, and other. Best thing you can do is use Google to find this. Not many people run Java on Pocket PC (with native code and managed code avaialble) so it will be a kind of a hunt...
