Gidday all

I'm just wondering as to what experiences people have had lately with Mobilefonerepair?

There is are few posts dated back a number of months saying that they are a rip-off. I'm certainly not going to disagree with people there.

But how about for those with phones under warranty? I took my Nokia 3650 in a number of months ago to get the firmware upgraded, and I got it back with a whole raft of photos and messages in the message inbox! At the time I didn't think much of it, but my partner got her Nokia 6310 firmware upgraded a month or so ago in order to sync over Bluetooth. It wasn't under warranty, but was a company phone, so I am not sure of the cost. Regardless, while they were flashing it, they managed to completely fry the phone. They replaced it with a second-hand 6310!

It seems to me they are rather incompetent. Certainly it takes a long time for them to do anything once they do get your phone.

Does anyone else have any horror stories? Or alternatively, stories of praise?

An alternative repair place is apparently Accord Mobile Solutions, but I have not used them. They are also a Vodafone-approved servicer.

Cheers

Interesting post. Mobilefonerepair was good when I needed a couple of Sony Ericsson P800 updated, but they tried to charge me for a repair on a charger that didn't need repair.

On the other hand Accord worked very well on my i-mate Pocket PC Phone Edition, but took them almost a week to admit the insurance company had already paid them, before they would release the phone back to me.

I've had to deal with them several times (and probably a few more since they're the only people that deal with Nokia phones in NZ) and I think that their customer service is appalling, they just seem to know how to charge you money, not answer your questions.
When I had to take my 7650 in for a format and firmware upgrade, they also decided they should replace 1/2 of the phone and charge me for it.
