Had a bit of shock when I got my phone bill yesterday...

Anyway I can be damn certain I have switched off the internet connection to make sure it doesn't ever accidently dial up?

I think what I did for now is replace the #777 with just a dot

you can ask telecom to disable the data bearer for your handset - i did that for several telecom handsets we had before moving to vodafone. now we block the gprs etc oat the network level for our vodafone phones
