Hi, after installing XP SP3 (but I can not say for sure that my problem is related to SP3 installation) I found out that programs on my PDA like IE, Opera or even Quick GPS fix update keep dialing GPRS connection instead of using ActiveSync connection and internet from connected PC (like usual).

By chance I also found that SPB Weather is able to download updates in normal way (i.e. through Active Sync).

I have tried to reinstall Active Sync, delete and create new pda-pc partnership, restarts, adding [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows CE Services] "AllowLSP"=dword:00000000 which I found as possible solution for this problem, but nothing helped me.

Still the same problem no matter if I am Active Sync connected by USB or BT.

I would really appreciate any kind of help.

UPDATE:
Now I tested some other programs, too.

Palringo, Skype, Spybot S&D update - are using Active Sync (proper way)

QIP, Live Messenger, Resco Radio - keep dialing GPRS

I really have no idea how to fix that

If you remove the SIM card, connect the PDA to ActiveSync are you able to use those applications?

Hello freitasm,

I tried even before to use program like NoData to ban gprs but IE only kept complaining that there is problem with connection and I should check connection settings.

Now I tried to open IE after I removed SIM card (as you recommended) and - woala! - IE is running through Active Sync.

And when I put the SIM card back into PDA, it is dialing gprs - again.

But well - what should be the solution for this problem?

You can try doing a reset in the cofiguration: on your Pocket PC open File Explorer, browse to \Windows and tap on welcome.exe... Follow th instructions and soft reset the device. If it still does the same after this then I'd do a hard reset - remember to have a backup of everything on Pocket PC.
