I've used Palm PDAs for at least a decade, maybe longer, starting with the Palm III (I think). Since then i've had two V's (good model, replaced under warranty eventually), six Tungsten C's (they were all faulty in different ways), three Tungsten E's (two had faulty key out of the box), and now my current 2-3 year old Tungsten E can't accurately tell where i've tapped the screen even a couple hours after calibration. I'm not overly impressed by the Palm hardware, but I love the OS and software. I had an iPaq for a week, the hardware was fantastic, but I hated mobile windows, and sold it at a small loss a week after I bought it.

I need to buy another device, so it's time to decide whether to stick to Palm or go elsewhere. What I really want is a PDA with a keyboard, like the Tungsten C, but they don't make that any more. I don't want a phone/PDA, just a PDA. Does anyone have any suggestions, Palm or otherwise? I can't lose my data, and i'd rather not give up my apps.

The Tugsten Tx is probably the obvious choice, with a faster processor and plenty of memory, and it's $550 from DSE, reduced. $550 isn't too bad a price. I'm just interested in other options, or if anyone knows if anything new's coming out any time soon.
