Our company is looking at rolling out a push calender/email system. At the moment they are looking at the blackberry, ive never been a fan of blackberrys and have been waiting for a reason to get a N95, having the buisness pay most of it is rather appealing too!
What are peoples experiences with mail for exchange, typically with the N95. I see there is a couple of threads on this from over a year ago but nothing current. Is anyone using a current version that can give any info about the performance and pitfalls of the product.

I use it on my E65 and it works great. The only significant downside of the Nokia client is that it doesn't support sub folders within your inbox if this is important. I believe Dataviz Roadsync does this if it's a feature you need.

I've been using Mail for Exchange on my N95 for the last 6 months had had absolutely no problems what-so-ever.

I far prefer having a highly capable multimedia phone than the rubbish windows devices.

Ok, well that sounds fine. Im not a heavy business emailer so subfolders for me isnt an issue. Ive been looking for more information but haven't found what im after so far. Whats involved in OTA push email/contacts, is it simply done through our exchange server and a connection to vodafone or is there a third party subscription based service involved as well? Basically the boss is leaning towards the blackberry, but another tech and i fancy the N95, its going to come down to cost, id love getting the N95's for those that want them and BES for the rest..

Buy N95

Download Mail for Exchange from www.businesssoftware.nokia.com
Install
Edit settings to your needs

Connect and done!

for what i want to do i thought it would be a little more complex than that?
synching when in the office is fine, i agree that is a simple process. Its syncing when out of the office through the cellular network that im asking about. We have a workshop manager that will update our calenders from the office when we are out in the field, is anyone using mail for excahnge for this? as well as checking our exchange server for emails remotely? i realise there will be data charges but what other fee's can we expect?

The only charges involved are for the data used.

There are no ongoing monthly charges for using Mail For Exchange, the software itself is free of charge also.

Yes it does push email, calendar, contacts.

So if you already have a server running Exchange 2003/2007 then you're ongoing costs to run this are nothing more than data costs.

Mail for exchange does sync calander, emails, contacts, breakfast lunch dinner etc. It will do everything that you need from an on the go email client. You can choose to manually sync or automatically sync every 4 hours even down to every 15 mins whihc I use.

In all honesty, I find it is a better solution to the blackberry software thats out there. All that is need to be paid is on going data costs which lets face it, are finally coming down.

I'd be lost without mail for exchange!

Many thanks for your replys, i was hoping that was going to be the case. I cant see why we couldnt have a few nokia's and blackberry's for the rest now! Excellent!

Only downside i believe is that on N-series devices M4E doesnt support some feature like remote wipe, that many organisations providing corporate email to devices require so that sensetive data doesnt go missing if the device is lost or stolen. The E-series do tho I believe
