I have an IPAQ H1940 and i face the following problem :

Activesyncs does conect but fails to actually sync any files. The 'add/remove programs' feature always gets stuck to 0% and i can't install any program to the pocket pc. It only creates a 0bytes size cab file for each installation attempt.
I have tried hard resting the pocketpc , uninstalling/reinstalling activesync 3.8 and 'detect and repair' in microsoft outlook.I've allowed all access for activesync through zonealarm. Nothing helps. The ipaq does sync flawlessly with other pcs i've tried, but has problem doing so on mine.

Any ideas?

You can try removing ActiveSync from your computer, then deleting all profiles from the following folder:

\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\Microsoft\ActiveSync\Profiles

Reboot, reinstall ActiveSync, soft reset the iPAQ and try again...

How is the Pocket PC connected? Is it directly to a USB port, or to a USB HUB? Could the USB port be malfunctioning? Checked the Power Management for this USB ports (Device Manager)?

It's connected to a perfectly functional usb port.

But have you tested other devices on this port? Sometimes the power management does some strange things too. And if you're using Windows XP SP2 make sure to unblock the internal firewall too.

I use SP1. Other USB devices work fine on the same port. Besides, I have tried all usb ports on my pc and activesync does the same...I believe it's a registry thing
