More likely a USB problem, but recently my iPAQ quit being recognized as connected if it is plugged in when I turn the computer on. If I plug it in when the PC is already on, no problem. Any suggestions? I vaguely remember something about deleting the USB files in the registry?

It can be a USB problem... Have you tried this iPAQ + cradle in another computer to see if it works ok?

I have connected to another laptop, but not before booting up the PC. Sync works fine with both as long as it's after booting.
How do I go about resetting my usb connections?

I suppose you have done a soft reset on your Pocket PC just before placing it in the cradl for a test?

Since this problem happens in more than one computer I'd suspect either the cradle or the Pocket PC itself. You could try a hard reset - make sure you have a backup of documents and the programs ready to reinstall.

Do not restore a full backup - if it's a configuration problem the fault will simply come back.
