Hi All,

I want to play my video's that are recorded from my Sony HDD video camera, they are coded in MPEG2 but windows Media Player 10 Mobile can't play them, is there a codec pack that can be downloaded that will allow this version of media player (10.3) to play these sort on video's. I tried to search on Google and Google mobile but got lost, and the one I did download said it wasn't able to work.

You can use TCPMP with the ffmpeg plugin http://picard.exceed.hu/tcpmp/test/ or MPlayer http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-download-mplayer.html (haven't tested either one)

The problem is that most mobile devices are generally too low powered to play MPEG2 streams. Even if you do manage to get it playing, it won't be worth watching (Especially if you're playing full-res (DVD quality) videos).

My advise is to convert it to a more friendly format, like MPG-1, WMV, 3GP or MP4, and resize the video to 320x240 (or w/e res suitable for your device).

I have some video converter on the laptop, Soft pepper or something, will give that a try.

There are a couple of flavours of TCPMP out there too, one or the other should work on your device.

I wouldnt even bother with windows media player to play videos.
Go for tcpmp.

I can play around 640x480 res mpeg-4 vids with my JasJar on tcpmp and it works fine.
Obviously the hd vids that i download on my laptop to watch that are 1280x720 will deff not work and will need converting.
