Hi there,

Is this possible, I have been trying to set this up using the Wmodem program but am not having much luck. Also, I used to use my old Nokia 6225 as a modem over IR and never seemed to get very good connection speeds (normally about 45K or so) any idea how I could make this go faster? I was going to use Bluetooth but my current laptop does not have it.

Cheers

There is currently no commercial software to drive the Harrier as a modem via IR. It can however be done via USB (Cradle) with a driver - if you want the driver flick me an email and I will send it to you. Using USB you can get up to 2Mbps. IR would only allow a max of 77kbps.

The speed you are getting on the 6255 is limited by the serial port speed (115kbps). The mobile jetstream network is capable of a max speed of 153kbps but because of the lower serial port speed the max you will see is around 77kbps. An average of around 50kbps is to be expected. The only way to get max speed is via Bluetooth or USB.
