I was just looking at Ovi store and for Windows Live Messenger. Ovi store tells me its not supported for the 5800XM, but this site says it is http://europe.nokia.com/support/download-software/windows-live/download-foir-s60-devices

Anyone running WLM on a 5800?

I use Nimbuzz for Windows Live Messaging as it also does pretty much every other chat protocol also.

Microsoft did create an old version of WLM for S60 devices many years ago but it was officially only available for a limited number of devices.

Is there any reason why you haven't just installed Nokia Messaging/Chat? This does all the major chat protocols.
