I have bought from Trademe an X at&t fone and have spent the past few hours trying to get it to connect to the Internet on XT. SMS and voice are fine. Using the same APN list from GZ that I used for my X at&t Samsung Eternity which was so easy to setup on all three carriers but this dog is putting me completely off Win Mobile. This fone is Win Mobile 6.1. I have trawled thru various post in this news group and tried to follow how they are setup but to no avail.

Does any one have some pictures of how this is setup, like for example in the APN list the home page is http://myhomepage but where on earth does that live??.

Failure to get this going will mean it will just end up a paper weight or an emergency fone.. Maybe I should buy an Android as there seems info on setting that up here..

http://myhomepage will be for phones that support WAP (IIRC Windows Mobile don't) however it may still work.

If you need to supply a home page, try m.telecom.co.nz it will take you to the same place anyway.

None of this should prevent an internet connection however, direct.telecom.co.nz or internet.telecom.co.nz as your APN and *99# as the dialing number if required.

Other than that what error are you getting?

Thanx for the info.

I don't get any error messages just the the wheel spinning on the bottom right and Locating on the bottom line until it times out. Have even done a hard reset back to factory default with no joy. Will persevere tonite when i get home..

I can now access some websites like CNN, Windows live but not //myhomepage , just get a DNS resolution error and //m.telecom.co.nz just sits there saying opening and most web site will say opening but just give a blank screen. . The funny thing is if I put in my Vodafone work SIM it it works fine in default mode after entering a web address. Maybe it's time to give up. Anyone know if the Telecom stores have any clues on how to set Win mobile 6 up??

You can try, you probably need to find someone who is a bit of a tech head, perhaps ask them if they will help you compare the required settings?

Speaking of if you give me step by step what settings are required, I'll see if I can get some answers for you. Also have you tried this device with another Telecom SIM / mobile number on XT?

No. The only Telecom XT SIMs i have are old data ones which I will have to put some money on to get going... Also tried a 2D SIM but no joy there either but on the other hand WiFi works great..
