after reading this article here from CNET I was wondering if anybody had recommendations on what antivirus software to use on my Apache ??

Hmmm. Did you see we had this article here on Geekzone three days before CNET? Actually, the person who leads the organisation's technical team is based in Tauranga, good old New Zealand, and he sent me a tip a couple of days before everyone else had it. I really recommend people read our news section, not only the forums. Perhaps the Geekzone RSS feed?

Anyway, back to your question. There are lots of solutions available. Trend Micro, McAfee, Symantec, Airscanner, CA all offer AV software for Windows Mobile. We even have a Symantec Handheld AV review published back in 2003!

I don't suppose you have a personal preference of which solution to use do you? 3 guys in-house are running this platform and a number of our clients are too.

Forgot to mention F-Secure and Avast as well.

I am running the F-Secure solution in one of the servers, and Avast in all my desktop/laptop computers. They are both really good (Avast is free for personal use).

As for the software on the Pocket PC, they all promise on-line scanning, on-demand scan and some have automatic updates.

I've used the Symantec and noticed that after a while my SD card was corrupted - I guess the software had files open for scanning when the power was off and caused this.

Be very cautious with these software: it may cause more harm then good. User education is still something that goes a long way, and most desktop AV will start scanning for this kind of problems too...
