I’m running windows mobile 5 on an hp rx1955 with outlook 2003 on both the PC and handheld and sync via cable using active sync 4.1.

Often when I move email items from my inbox to a subfolder (regardless of if the sub folder is set for sync or not), the item is not moved on my PC and I end up with different amounts of email messages on the PC compared to the handheld.

Is there anyway to guarantee a true sync where one will match the other?

Thank you

Welcome to Geekzone... This probalby happens when you update the item on your Pocket PC (move to another folder for example) and mark read the same item as read on your Outlook Inbox before doing a synchronisation.

In these cases there's a conflict and the software has to decide which action to take. Try noting the actions you are peforming to see if there's a pattern.

Thank you for you reply regarding the descrpenaceies i was getting between my outlook email on my hhandheld and the PC.

3  additional questions:

1. Is there any way to reset the outlook on my handheld to start from scratch or rather force it to have the PC overwrite the desktop? the closest thing i could come up with is to set my handheld to sync for the last day, delete all the emails that dont sync any more and then set the handheld to sync all my emails.  This takes a long time when you have over 20 emails to delete.

2.  My handheld does not always make a valid connection when i plug it in.  I need to disconnect and reconnect it a second time for the PC to recogize it.  Any reason?

3.  It seems i very often have to manually go in and "stop running programs" to get my handheld to work right.  is there any way around this or any way to set a program to actually close?

thank you
