Just installed WM6.5 on my OKTA Touch.
Have yet to see much difference from WM6.1 aside from the fact that files in "My Ringtones" no longer show up in Notifications which was the case in 6.1,Cry
also disappointed that the WAV restriction is still in place for alarms.Frown

there is quite a lot of difference in the touch-friendly(er) nature of 6.5 and it ships with a whole new internet explorer among other things. if you've grabbed an image off of xda then it may, or may not, be a complete 6.5 upgrade rom.

in any case, forcing a newer OS onto an older phone is often going to be a bad experience. the newer OS's usually have higher requirements for memory and CPU.

e.g. sticking windows phone 7 on an HTC HD2 is basically sticking it on a device with half the minimum spec - its never going to run as well as it should as it was designed for different processor, graphics engines etc

I did indeed grab the image off XDA:-
NFSFAN's WM6.5 1.00 FINAL, which I believe is a complete upgrade.
Perhaps someone can confirm or refute that?

Based on what I have read on various fora the OKTA Touch is capable of handling WM6.5, but again, perhaps that may be open to debate.

Since I have only just implemented the upgrade I have not had enough time to explore all aspects, but I had hoped that the WM6.1 annoyances would have been removed.

Interesting. I retired my old OKTA Touch on 6.1 when Telecom turned off EVDO, upgrading to a Touch2 on 6.5. While the basic OS is very similar I'm finding that 6.5 works better, and is quite an improvement.
