hey guys!

complete newbie to the world of CPUs...Hope to find an answer to the following question:

- How does a 32-bit Intel XScale® core-based CPU running at 400 MHz (used in mobile/cellular devices) compare to a 32-bit Pentium 3 running at 450 Mhz on my PC?

Simply put, does there exist common ground to compare the two class of CPUs?

Wud appreciate ur thoughts?

I'm not sure we can compare the platforms. Things like bus speed, RAM speed, ROM, interface all influence the overall performance. I'm curious now to find out more about this too.

got some dope on this...A Nokia 6600, for example, runs on a 106 Mhz processor...that dont seem much by today's pc standards but a 386 running Windown 3.1 was on a 16 Mhz CPU!

Wonder how many Nokia 6600 106 Mhz CPUs == one P3 833 Mhz machine?

any ideas folks...?
