I know this isn't really the forum for this, but I just thought someone might be able to advise me. :)

I have a C-pen - which is a hand scanner with IrDA 1.0 connectivity. The problem is that my desktop doesn't have an infrared port and most adaptors seem to be for the 1.1 standard. While this is apparently backwards compatible with 1.0 as far as hardware is concerned, there can be software problems if the device is older technology (the C-pen is 1999 I think).

I'm hoping someone can advise me on what adaptor would be suitable plus any other advice you can offer. :)
